I see that you have a link to chronic renal failure in cats. The first cat my mother had, Tiger, had kidney failure when he was only 2 years old. I was only about 10 years old or so, and it really hurt...until Mom picked up another cat, Princess.
She lived until she was about 14 or so. Extremely sweet cat, as yours was.
Hi Nancy, Yes, Precious had a long life. I'll always miss him. I have another cat, Bessie, and I'm also a foster mom to 4 kittens. Circle of life! Thanks for you comments! Lisa I like your blog!
I'm a software engineer and the rest of the time, I'm a poet, writer, volunteer, blogger, and playing on my iPhone. I currently have nearly 700 poems. I enjoy outdoor activities like inline skating, biking, skiing (especially cross country) and hiking.
I have 4 cats all of them are litter mates - found homeless, feral around 5 weeks old by a volunteer at a cat shelter.

I'm sorry to hear that! He did live a long life, but it sucks when our little darlings have to leave this Earth.
And when you don't have any human kids, it's even tougher. I know.
