Sick Mayor in Randolph, Iowa

A $5 bounty is being offered for each feral feline turned in that will then be taken to a vet and killed. This is Randolph's solution to a feral cat problem that originated from someone dumping their cat in the wild. So human irresponsibility is perpetuated by cruelty and more irresponsibility.

What sort of sick message does this send to the children of Randolph on how to treat animals? What sort of person is capable of such cruelty? Would you want to work along side them?

Sounds like they have a problem, but I'm not sure if this is the best way to solve it.

I've NO doubt that putting a bounty on an animals head to encourage people to round up terrified cats is a HORRIBLE solution.
Quite frankly we have problems with feral cats because of our OWN irresponsible behavior. Too many people dump their cats in the wild, thinking that they can fend for themselves where those cats that do live, are left to multiple.

Think of the frenzy this will cause for people eager to cash in on a buck. Children out there rounding up terrified kitties. People trying to capture these frightened babies in any way they can. Makes me sick knowing that the Mayor of this town is encouraging this horrible treatment. In effect, the on going abuse of animals, especially cats, is being encourage and financially rewarded.
