At last, I've managed to pick up not just one, but 3 of the kittens. (not at the same time!)
They were walking around a few feet from their mother and I was able to grab one and run out the door AND return with them without being shredded! This little kitty is sitting on my hand.
My sister said she passed around her kitten while they were visiting my Mom at Thanksgiving, and she's been a cuddly kitty ever since. All she did was pass the kitty around from person to person. So handling the kitties as much as possible is a great idea. Glad mama is starting to trust you.
That's my job as a foster parent, handle them often which, with Louise (the mother) in the way, hasn't been happening. Hopefully, now that the kittens are getting more mobile, I'll have more chances.
It would be great if I can regularly hold them, then they won't need to be seperated.
aren't they just! I managed to hold more of them today. I worked from home and sat with my laptop and papers in the room with the mother and kittens. They're so tiny!
aren't they just! I've gotten more and more time with them. Yesterday I took a photo of two of them snuggled up against my husband. I'm about to upload the photos.
I'll keep my eye on your blog for a photo of your baby.
I'm a software engineer and the rest of the time, I'm a poet, writer, volunteer, blogger, and playing on my iPhone. I currently have nearly 700 poems. I enjoy outdoor activities like inline skating, biking, skiing (especially cross country) and hiking.
I have 4 cats all of them are litter mates - found homeless, feral around 5 weeks old by a volunteer at a cat shelter.

Awwwww! They're SO cute! Glad you didn't give up. You just have to be patient, which is easier said than done.
