Not so sure about my idea. At first I was super pysched as it's quite unique, however, I'm not so sure how much the market really goes for such ideas.
A bigger concern is that the idea might cross too many boundaries between young adult and adult fantasy.
Time to rethink

Markets cycle. I had one agent respond to me essentially giving me the bad news that epic fantasy for new authors is dead for another year. But since I'm having SOME positive responses with my queries, it can't be completely dead.
And it appears that the old boundaries for young adult literature are no more. I'm not sure that's a good thing. You can always position a novel with a young protagonist as adult literature. After all, I wouldn't say that Lord of the Flies is for children.
You gotta write what you want to write.
Yes, Lisa.
Write from the heart. Unique well-written stories will apways be sold. one day or another. -C
Thanks guys. I might try weave it a different way.
I haven't read the Lord of the Flies before.
Lord of the flies is absolutely great!
As Tia said, the line between YA and adult is pretty much non-existent some times.

Lord of the Flies is a very grim classic. It's also very slender and is a quick, disquieting read. And yes, it's great.
Lisa:
Another good book that is an odd little YA/adult book is All the little animals. Very good. -C
A disquieting grim tale is not exactly my sort of read.
